Candidate:

We are seeking a candidate with strong expertise in Django and backend development. Familiarity with React, Typescript, Redux, and Tailwind would be beneficial since we have two active projects—one with a React front-end and Django back-end, and another using Django as a full-stack solution. The ideal candidate should be highly experienced in Django’s backend processes, including API development, database management, and deployment within containerized environments (Docker). Familiarity with PostgreSQL is essential, and knowledge of htmx and hyperscript would be a plus.

We are open to both seasoned professionals and junior developers who are eager to learn and grow. Please note, we maintain high standards for code quality, meaning you will likely be involved in frequent refactoring of your work before final integration.

Our team comprises 4 in-house developers, several junior developers contracted through Upwork, and 2 domain experts.

Project:

Our current project focuses on building a robust backend system that will form the foundation for all future services. We are developing a powerful database application using Django with a PostgreSQL database, all deployed in a Docker environment. While we use PyCharm Professional as our primary IDE, other IDEs are welcome, though support is tailored to PyCharm.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Backend Development: Designing and implementing API endpoints, optimizing database performance, and ensuring security.
• Assisting with Frontend Development: Occasionally contributing to frontend-related tasks if needed.
• Maintaining and improving our back-end infrastructure using Django and related technologies.
• Managing version control and code collaboration via GitHub.

We’re looking for a candidate:

• With strong backend capabilities, particularly in Django.
• Who is experienced in containerized development environments like Docker.
